Nicolas Réau - Le Clos des Treilles

Nicolas Réau, a former musician, began his winemaking journey in 2002 in Anjou, Loire Valley. With 7 hectares of organically farmed vineyards—5 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 2 of Chenin Blanc—Nicolas crafts natural wines that embody the region’s unique terroir. His approach avoids over-maturity and emphasizes gentle maceration in amphoras, concrete vats, and minimal wood use. In 2007, Nicolas released his first low-sulfite vintage, a defining moment in his commitment to natural winemaking. Alongside his wife, Sylvie Auguereau, also a winemaker, they have become key figures in the natural wine movement, celebrated for their authenticity and innovation.
