Antoine Bouvet
Antoine Bouvet is the grandson of Guy Bouvet, who founded Maison Champagne Guy Bouvet in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in 1970. Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, just a stone's throw from Epernay, the estate spans three villages classified as premier cru: Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Bisseuil, and Avenay-Val-d'or. Trained by his grandfather for the first year, Antoine now has a strong conviction for biodynamic practices in the vineyards. His vines are carefully tended, with old mass selections enriching them. The vines' old age allows them to penetrate deeply into the soil, offering the purest expression of the chalky soils rich in gypsum in his champagne. Antoine is known for his minimal intervention in the cellars, utilizing spontaneous fermentation and gentle oak aging. He is recognized by his peers and Champagne wine lovers as one of the most talented growers of his generation, with his wines featured in some of the world's finest restaurants. Antoine is also part of La Cidrerie de Verzy, along with Quentin Paillard, Flavien Nowack, Adrien Renoir, and Bertrand Lapie. La Cidrerie de Verzy is a passion project among friends dedicated to vinifying organic apples and pears from local orchards and the historic terroirs of Normandy.
