Union Le Mesnil sur Oger × Puisieulx

The top wine, in tiny quantities. Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger married to the Puisieulx Pinot Noir perpetual reserve, the Chardonnay raised on lees in barrel without racking, the reserve refreshed each year, and the wine finished Extra Brut with a liqueur drawn from that same reserve. Around 20% of the blend comes from the reserve, kept in 400-litre barrels on lees. Chalk-driven and precise, Mesnil's citrus-zest tension given breadth and savoury complexity by the Puisieulx Pinot, into a long, elegant finish.
